Fahrt nach Mesopotamos  zu einer der ältesten Sehenswürdigkeiten Griechenlands, dem Totenorakel Nekromanteion, das schon im  3. Jahrtausend v. Chr. von Menschen aufgesucht wurde, die Kontakte mit den Verstorbenen aufnehmen wollten. Auf dem Unterweltfluss Acheron .

Hier sind die Verstorbenen zur Unterwelt des Totensottes Hades gefahren. Danach  haben Sie die Gelegenheit zur Besichtigung des Denkmals von Zalongo, einer riesigen Stein-Skulptur, die zum Gedenken an die tapferen 'Frauen von "Souli" auf dem Felsen von Zalongo errichtet wurde. A day to hell and back!
Mesopotamos, a small vilages 20 km
south of Parga, holds one of the
oldest historical sites in Greece. A rocky Hill overlooking river Acheron reveals the Necromanteion,
the only found oracle of the dead, the entrance to the mythological underworld (Hades). Here, long ago led by priests, the tiving were brought to meet the dead.
Afterwards we will climb up to the Rock of Zalongo with a monument dedicated to the wornen of Souli, who in 802 danced their way over the cliffs rather than af[ow thernselves to fall into the hands of the Turks. Gaze at the breathtaking scenery over the ancientcity of Nikopolis.

A chance to cool down awaits you as you ramble trought the famous river Acheiron next to Gliki. In early and late season you may prefer to walk next to the river as the waters can be very cold. Please take a plastic  bag for  your Camera.
